SILVER JUBILEE HOMECOMING 2009

The OLPCC high school batch 1984 celebrated its Silver Jubilee Homecoming last December 30, 2009. The hosting of the event took five years to prepare went through the feastivities with much ease and joy. The officers for the Alumni Homecoming headed by Carlos Serrano and Rene Respicio was tireless in coming up with ideas and efforts to make the event meaningful and with much fun.

The event which started in the morning with a mass celebrated by Fr.Evan Blair Cauan who in turn gave a touching homily appropriate for the batch 1984 theme which is 'Upholding Christian Values'. A parade around the city was made, contributing more traffic to the much congested roads. The speakers to the program were Rene Respicio, Ben Pua, the OPCC alumni president, Sr. Precila Gapuz, the HS principal and Carlos Serrano. The parlor games and the drawing of the prizes where made by the energenic emcees Joy Viloria, Rodel Pedro and Susan Reyes. The symbol of the Silver Jubilee was handed over to the 2010 silver jubilarian, the OLPCC HS Batch 1985 headed by Heidi Maramag. This goes with the traditional challenge to achieve what the hosting batch has prepared and shared, a challange which she gladly accepted. An after event party started around 4 pm with music made by a 'live band', a classmate, Leonard Mallilin gamely entertained the batch with a number of his song and antics. The party went on with everyone moving around to catch up to their old friends and classmates, to some, they never had seen in the last 25 years. After all the songs, the dancing, the chat, the laughter... all ended up saying goodbye and looking forward to the 2010 alumni homecoming and the next school project they have agreed work on together.

A quite a number of individuals has made this event possible, their contributions with their time, effort and money are greatly appreciated by the OLPCC HS Batch 1984. In near future, this website will put up a special page to mention their names.
